Some of Brazil’s finest forro musicians perform in this weekly party .
The term "forro" refers to a number of Northeastern Brazilian dances as well the various musical genres which accompany these dances. The music is based on a combination of three instruments (accordion, zabumba and a metal triangle) and is often as exciting as rock or as mellow as jazz.
Cocktails in hand, the crowd manages to samba with the flash and flair of a Rio Carnival celebration without ever spilling a drop. Time steps, swing and fancy foot work are natural reactions to forro´s positive vibes and musical chemistry. For more information, call (212) 254-3706. |

Hosted by comedian Sara Barron and disc jockey Stewey Decimal, anyone age 18 and older are welcome to the park´s epic game of musical chairs.
Musical chairs is a game in which a group of players walk around a circle of chairs (enough for all but one player) while music plays. The players try not to be the one unable to sit. Each round ends with the losing player and one chair removed until a final player remains.
