Habitat
Kitchen [ venue info ]
05/24/2013 through 05/25/2013

This theater piece registers the psychological impact of things that happen beyond one’s power of control.

"Habitat" takes place between two groups of neighbors in the adjoining backyards of a small mid-western town. While these people sometimes speak of what divides them, the real tragedy here arises in the ordinary business of life that distracts them from any possible concordance.

Confessions Of A Cuban Sex Addict
DUO Multicultural Arts Center [ venue info ]
Event Start Date : 05/24/2013
Event Start Time : 8:00 PM

Experience this voyeuristic and thrilling play centered on an actor calling himself "Raphael" and based on the true stories of a man who made his living with his body.

The audience is moved during the show through a dim installation of trinkets from Raphael’s life and sexually warped scenes of domesticity, into an amazingly intimate performance space wherein powerful media imagery from the main character’s life is suspended on multiple mesh curtains. They describe their experiences with him vividly, giving the audience insight into Raphael’s journey from Cuba to New Jersey to New York to here and now.

"Confessions" is a treat for an adult audience who appreciate truth-seeking, an emotionally naked look at a skilled artist willing to expose both his greatest assets and most raw relationships. For tickets, call SmartTix at (212) 868-4444.
