This workshop will focus on revision and how poets continue to push the poem along the path they think they want to explore by investigating diction, structure and other craft elements --- while also driving their poems into uncharted terrain by investigating alternate and unexpected routes.
It is being led by Martha Rhodes, the author of four poetry collections.

Poet, author and online activist Kenneth Goldsmith offers his take on the museum´s exhibition "Jack Goldstein x 10,000."
Jack Goldstein´s (1945 - 2003) paintings transformed, restaged and remade films in such a way as to strip out specific details, context and function. The exhibit frames Goldstein as a central figure of the Pictures Generation of the 1970s and 1980s and showcases his influential paintings and films, while also including installations, ephemera, writings and pioneering sound recordings.

Take part in a marathon reading of American poet, essayist and journalist Walt Whitman´s (1819-1892) "Song Of Myself."
The bisexual Whitman was a part of the transition between transcendentalism and realism, incorporating both views in his works --- and is often called the father of free verse. First published in 1855, "Song Of Myself" is a poem that forgoes standard verse and stanza patterns in favor of a simple, legible style that can appeal to a mass audience. It is also known for its blatant depictions of human sexuality.
